Christine Streubel founded ICU (Ideal Culture Union) in Vienna in 1991 when she realised that Vienna partly failed to offer visitors the living experience of the past – despite its wealth of history, culture and tradition. While Vienna respected its heritage it failed to bring the past to life.
And so an idea was born; to recreate the excitement and vibrations of the dynamic ages of this metropolis of European history – to take the visitor to the exact locations where events took place, to re-enact events in their precise historical or cultural context and to let the visitor become a part of that history that has so profoundly influenced the development of the civilised world.
